The story in one paragraph

Stowe is a voice-first daily planner built by one developer in India. You talk the way you actually talk — half sentences, Hinglish, tangents — and on-device AI turns it into a short, finishable plan of three to five things. 2.0 adds Ask: on-device semantic search over everything you have ever said to the app, so “did I say something about the dentist?” finds “Book a checkup for my teeth” even though the words share nothing. Capture, understanding, and search all run on the phone: the whole app works in airplane mode, and there is no account and no server. The big planners route this through the cloud; Stowe’s bet is that a planner you tell your life to should keep it.

What’s technically interesting about Ask

Ask embeds every captured title with Apple’s contextual-embedding model (512 dimensions, mean-pooled) and answers questions with a hybrid of semantic similarity and keyword evidence — about nine milliseconds a query, two kilobytes an item, entirely offline. The index never syncs: vectors re-derive from the words on each device. Hinglish works through Latin-script generalisation. Once a week the app resurfaces the oldest living thing and offers three honest moves — do it today, rest it, or let it go — and letting go is reversible, because asking finds it again.
